It’s the oldest and the largest national park in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, created in the year 1955, and spans across a total area of 1,727 Sq.km. Tadoba Tiger Reserve derives its name from the tribal God honored in this region Taru or Tadoba and the river that flows through the area Andhari. This protected area is divided into three separate forest ranges, i.e. Tadoba north range, Kolsa south range, and Moharli range.
